Fall Weekend

I've been all thrown off this Fall with the hot weather. Here in Texas we are still enjoying full green trees and wearing shorts and t-shirts most days. This weekend we had fun visiting the Burns out in Seguin Friday night for their ward Trunk-or-Treat and a family teeth cleaning at Alligator Dental afterwards. To be honest I'm not huge on the Halloween Holiday and so we don't have too many decorations in our house and I don't take time to plan out costumes or anything. This is the second year we've been baseball players (because we already have the stuff in our closet) and I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again next year. The Burns had some old costumes they let us look through for Jaxon. The bumble bee costume was the winner (so cute!). It was first purchased at Kid to Kid by Lisa, then worn by Abby, twice by Jake, then once by each Molly and Miley, and now Jaxon. Pretty much this costume is a winner and has definitely gotten some good use.

Everyone got in on the fun cleaning teeth after hours at the Dental office. I even got to work on Molly's for a minute. Everyone was cavity free! Jaxon was not a huge fan of getting his teeth cleaned..I couldn't help but laugh watching Brad try to get in there while he was freaking out.

Saturday night we had the sisters over for dinner. I love the sister missionaries and going out with them to teach! They are some of my best friends here haha. This last transfer was a threesome companionship. This next week one is going home to Georgia and one is a Temple Square sister and is returning to Salt Lake. We loved having them over for the last time and I made a chocolate missionary name tag cake for dessert.

...And a few random pictures after the sisters left..cute boys :)

Little bit of a milky chin..but look at those sweet blue eyes!

Theurer mini reunion

We have been looking forward to this week for a while. The ADA (American Dental Association) conference was in San Antonio this year and so not only did Brad get two days off of school to go, but his parents were coming into town to stay with us so they could go to it as well. Derek needed some dental work done and realized it was cheaper to fly to Texas and have his dad do it then to have it done in Virginia and so it turned into a little reunion minus Jared, Kierra, Becca, Hannah and Meredith (who we missed).
Everyone was pretty busy during the day but we filled our nights with fun. Here are some pics from the week:
Football game in Seguin. Caleb danced before the game with a hip hop group and Molly and Abby were cheerleaders :)
I loved the Burns kids outfits! Does't Jake look good? ;)
Petting zoo at the fair. Jaxon wasnt even scared of the goat eating his pants haha
Jake, Miley and Molly were part of the Mutn' Bustin in the Rodeo. They all did a great job and we had fun cheering for them.  Jake even made it to the top 8 finalist.

Miley and Lisa teach a Baby dance class. Teresa, Jack, Jaxon and I had fun going and being a part of the class. The boys had fun playing and dancing to the music and Miley was so cute taking care of all of the kids.
...And yes, I just realized pretty much all of the pictures are just of Jaxon, but what can I say, I'm a mom who loves her little boy.
- He's been doing this funny thing lately where he puts his hands behind his head and relaxes in his high chair and it cracks us up...

10. 20. 2014

Highlights Lately:

- Brad turned 26! I made him a chocolate peanut butter cake that we enjoyed for a few days.  We also went out to lunch at a new sushi place.

- We had Scott and Teresa come visit. Living away, we get really excited for visitors and this last weekend they came for the ADA dental meetings and we were able to have some fun family time.

- Jaxon is walking! We knew it would happen any day, but it was extra fun for him to show off and start while is grandparents were in town. He's still real wobbly but oh so cute!

- Brad surprised me and came home early on the 15th with flowers. Its the day we met 4 years ago and I love celebrating our random anniversaries, and he likes buying flowers on days other than Mothers Day and Valentines Day  for me so it all works out.

- Burns dinners. Lisa and Al come into San Antonio once a month to teach a class at the dental school. I babysit all the kids while they are teaching and then we go out to eat after. This last time we went to a fancy French restaurant and tried escargot for the first time. Its a fun night we look forward to each month, and Jaxon seriously loves his cousins.

- It's still really hot here but every once in a while there have been cool days and we have been enjoying more walks as a family at night and my morning runs are getting less sweaty ;)

- I feel like there was more but thats it for now..until next time

Brad's Favorite Fall treat..Owl cookies
running puts him right to sleep

Last night Brad and I finished reading the Book of Mormon again as a couple. When we were first married I felt a little awkward when the two of us would read out loud to each other, but have come to love our time reading together at night and discussing and learning from one another. I have felt spiritually uplifted after listening to the talks in conference and finishing up reading the Book of Mormon and wanted to take the opportunity this morning to write down my feelings and testimony:

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true and restored gospel on the earth today.  As I read the Book of Mormon I feel the power of its words and stories and know it was meant for us to have in our day. As we pray we can find answers through studying and reading the scriptures. They are a blessing and tool our Heavenly Father has given us to learn and grow. We are blessed to have living prophets and apostles on the earth today to lead and guide us. The prophet gives us direction straight from our Heavenly Father. It's crazy to think how incredibly amazing that really is! If we follow their council we will find peace in our trials, and answers to our problems. I know there are other ways to find happiness in this life, but the only true happiness and peace we will find is through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that our savior knows each one of his children individually. I feel his love when I pray each day and know he cares about my smallest worries and emotions. He is waiting for us to come and be perfected through him.
My favorite scripture changes often, but for a while it has been Mosiah 7:33 - "But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage." Life brings with it lots of surprises, but if we "turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart" and look for opportunities to serve and become better each day we will feel the love of our savior and find true peace and joy.
